A Thousand Thanks!

Bag and String’s expansion project is nearing the final stages. The store is ready for us to move in, we are just waiting for the State Liquor Authority to approve the liquor license. This has been an arduous journey; many sleepless nights, constant self-doubt and second guessing my decisions – all pushed aside because of the desire to prove to my family, my community and to myself that I could make this happen.

This project started five years ago with the idea that my adopted community would support and want a wine and spirits store that has a unique selection, education, great customer service and an aesthetically pleasing shopping environment. In a mere four years we have outgrown our space, built the wine club to nearly 700 members and developed great relationships with our customers and community.

I am DEEPLY humbled by the support of my family, my employees, my amazing customers and the Chautauqua community.

Thank you, a thousand times, thank you.

Cheers,
Sam

Opening the Door to Great New Things

The renovations at 110-112 Chautauqua Avenue have been a labor of love for Bag & String owner Sam Whitmore.

The new space will include many items that are handcrafted, restored or made from scratch to create a rustic and unique feel.

Photos below show the front door restoration from start to finish:

We can guarantee that you can expect to find great things behind this door when the renovations are complete!

FINALLY – A Big Announcement

Bag & String Wine Merchants, New Building, Renovations, Chautauqua Avenue, Lakewood NY

Finally, after trying to find a building for two years, some false starts and deals not coming together….we are pleased to announce that we have a SIGNED contract for this property (still on Chautauqua Ave). We will be doubling our square footage!

Hoping to be moved in before the holidays (who wants to hear about the holidays seeing as winter just ended two weeks ago?!).

Lastly, a very sincere and humble thank you to my family’s support and, of course, to all of my great customers. I knew that this area needed and wanted a better wine and spirits store. Could not have done without ALL of you.

Oh, and drink more wine 🙂

Cheers!

Sam
